Chiltern Railways are advising customers travelling on Sunday 9 June that due to planned engineering works, the line will be closed between Bicester North and Leamington Spa all day. As a result, a heavily amended timetable will be in operation. Customers are advised to check their journey before travelling and allow extra time.

Rail replacement buses will operate on the route, connecting with trains to/from Marylebone at Bicester Village, and connecting with trains to/from Birmingham Moor Street at Leamington Spa. The ‘West Side’ car park at Banbury station will be closed from Friday 7 June through to Sunday 9 June inclusive. Customers should use the ‘East Side’ multi-story car park at Banbury for parking and passenger drop off /pick-up instead.

Rail replacement buses will operate over the following routes:

Bicester Village – Banbury – Leamington Spa.
Bicester Village – Banbury – Stratford Upon Avon.
Bicester Village – Kings Sutton – Banbury.

There will be no through trains between London Marylebone and Birmingham and no services will operate from Bicester North station. Customers will need to use rail replacement buses to complete their journey, if travelling through the affected area. Most journey times will be considerably longer than usual, and customers should check their journey before setting off. Journey planners have been updated.
