We are proud to announce that TPS Global Logistics has been honoured with the first ever King’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2023.

TPS Global Logistics is one of 148 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.

This recognition for excellence in International Trade comes in TPS Global Logistics 20th year of trading. Established in 2003, this family owned and operated business is based in Aylesford, Kent.

The business has expanded rapidly, adding new services and facilities. It employs 58 people in its UK offices, warehouses and within its delivery team. The company has its own fleet of vehicles and drivers for UK and European deliveries.

Services include international freight forwarding, logistics, warehousing and domestic transport, as well as supplying labour and courier services, utilising its own team and vehicles. Over the period 2019 to 2022, overseas sales have grown by 109% with the percentage exported rising to 57% of all sales.

As of 1st April 2023 TPS Global Logistics Managing Director Matt Smith has also been appointed an Export Champion by the Department for International Trade (DIT) for the 4 consecutive year. The role of the Export Champions is to encourage and inspire other local businesses to grow through exporting, by drawing on their own experience.

TPS Global Logistics has previously won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, International Trade in 2015 and 2018. The company wins the King’s Award for Outstanding Short-Term Growth in overseas sales over three years.

Commenting on the Award, Matt Smith, Managing Director of TPS Global Logistics said:
‘There are not enough words to describe how proud I feel to have won such a prestigious award for the third time but all the credit goes to our amazing team. To have continued our growth in overseas sales during a pandemic with travel restrictions in place, highlights the relationships and reputation we have built, resulting in referrals and increased volumes from existing customers. There have been many supply chain issues over the past 3 years and the resilience and determination our team have shown has been outstanding.

Whilst we recognise the need for automation, we try to maintain a personal touch to provide the right balance. It has been fantastic meeting face to face again recently through overseas travel, exhibitions and inviting customers to visit our expanding facilities. We have always focused on providing a service to the highest level, serving some of the most demanding industries. This is enabled by continuous investment in infrastructure and training to give us as much control as possible over our customers supply chain.’

The King’s Awards for Enterprise was previously known as The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise, and the new name reflects His Majesty The King’s desire to continue the legacy of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s by recognising outstanding UK businesses. The Award programme, now in its 57th year, is the most prestigious business award in the country, with successful businesses able to use the esteemed King’s Awards Emblem for the next five years.
