Basildon-based haulage and warehousing specialists, Thames Group, are predicting 2024 will be another year of growth for many of the businesses they support across Essex and the South East.

Following a positive 2023, the logistics experts have seen demand increase for the logistics of the products consumers and businesses rely on, as inflation declines and businesses look forward.

“We’re seeing clients gain confidence and appear to commit more to their short-, medium- and long-term plans. New customers in particular are approaching us to deal with increasing volumes and ensure they have entirely dependable logistics” says Daniel Treadwell, Managing Director of Thames Group.

Based in Essex and established in 1977, Thames Group is a family-run company which provides distribution, haulage and warehousing to a wide variety of businesses across Essex, Greater London and the surrounding counties.

As well as regular distribution and warehousing of goods, Thames Group provide Pick & Pack sorting of goods and palletising services, as well as last-minute and time-sensitive deliveries.

“In a 24/7 world, it’s flexibility which businesses and consumers need. As we too operate 24/7, we’re able to deliver everything from a single box to full trailers, at any time of the day or night” adds Daniel.

Thames Group receive, sort and store goods from across the UK and around the world, and distribute them to businesses in the South East and for export through UK ports.

With more than 50% of Essex businesses predicting they would expand in 2023 (Enterprise Nation’s Small Business Barometer), indications are that this year is likely to see even greater optimism as inflation and some costs begin to fall.

“Confidence is key to businesses, whether it’s good economic signs or having trust in their haulage and warehousing provider. The dependability of the services we deliver helps our clients focus on achieving their goals” continues Daniel.

Thames Group transport materials and goods ranging from timber and steel, to ambient food and homewares. Their fleet of vehicles ranges from light vans to 44 tonne articulated heavy goods lorries.

Operating close to Felixstowe, Tilbury and the Port of London, Thames Group provide container and trailer collection services directly from the docks for direct delivery, unloading or palletising at their depot for short- or long-term storage.

“Given events in recent years, many businesses have become more resilient and willing to push forward. If we can help companies in Essex and the South East with their logistics, we’re keen to be part of the solution that helps them realise growth in 2024” concludes Daniel.
