Paul Walker joined the Premier Logistics team as Commercial and Operations Director this month.

The role is a new function, created strategically to help achieve the firm’s ambitious five-year business plan targeting a £50m turnover. Paul has been brought in to apply his extensive industry knowledge to ensure Premier remains on track in achieving the goal.

Since age 18, Paul has worked in the logistics industry, starting in SMEs through to blue chip companies. He built his career with big industry players DHL, Bibby’s and Menzies Group. But Paul was keen to get back to his roots and put his experience to use in serving and developing an SME.

The hire of Paul comes in time for Premier’s 20th anniversary in May 2024. The 19-year-old company is currently enjoying a £13m turnover but with 20 around the corner, Premier bosses are keen to reach new heights.

Paul Walker, Commercial and Operations Director at Premier Logistics, said:
“I wanted to work somewhere that I could truly put my own stamp on and add real value to. With Premier, I can go about making change immediately for the good of the business, as opposed to having to go through months of red tape. This new role is a genius step in the five-year business plan and I’m already making moves to get closer to reaching that £50m turnover by anticipating new hires and establishing new corporate relationships. Starting with the company before it reaches its 20th year is great timing. It provides a real time-stamp for how much team Premier can achieve by its next anniversary.”

Lee Christopher, Managing Director of Premier Logistics, said:
“Paul comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience gained over many years working within our illustrious industry. Paul, like myself, started from the bottom working within SME businesses cutting his teeth, and then built his career through the big boys. With Premier, Paul won’t be just another number in a big organisation. He’s here to help us achieve our exciting growth plans, add stability, and further strengthen our management team. We have very big plans but they are very achievable as a team. We also have a major milestone next year, it will be our 20th year in business come next May and plans are underway to have a big party.”
