A new study by cross-border shopping platform UBuy Switzerland reveals the country is is least costly to ship to is The Netherlands.
The study compared shipping costs from everywhere in the world to all European countries, and then calculated the average to discover which countries are the least expensive to ship to.
The Netherlands takes the top spot with an average of €90.67. The state, known for its strategic location and world-class ports like Rotterdam, is a logistics powerhouse. Its well-developed infrastructure and connectivity to other European nations make it a preferred destination for cost-effective shipping.
In second comes Portugal, with an average shipping cost of €103.84. Its location in the Iberian Peninsula provides a unique bridge between Europe, Africa, and the Americas, and its accessible ports in Lisbon and Sines, coupled with a competitive transport network, make it a cost-effective choice.
Germany, which is in third place with an average of 103.88€, presents a massive consumer market. At the same time, its well-maintained infrastructure and industrial hubs facilitate swift, cost-effective distribution within the country and throughout the EU.
Further down on the list, Belgium takes fourth place with average shipping costing €104. Belgium’s central location in Europe is a crucial gateway for international trade. The Port of Antwerp, one of the largest and busiest in the world, provides excellent connectivity to the European mainland.
The top five closes with Austria, which has emerged as a cost-effective shipping destination due to its strategic position within Central Europe. Vienna has a thriving logistics and transportation industry, making it an excellent choice for shipping to the continent’s heart. The average shipping cost to the country is €104.03.
