The Pilot Group, which provides innovative technology solutions to help businesses become more sustainable, has announced ambitious plans for growth, after reporting a 16% increase in revenue year-to-date, compared with the previous year.

With a turnover of £45million and 160 employees, the Manchester-based organisation offers services focused on energy management, electric vehicle charging, LED lighting services and traffic control systems.

The Group has welcomed several new clients over the past twelve months, with an increasing pipeline of prospective customers expressing an interest in the company’s offer, which is focused on achieving carbon reduction and energy efficiency.

In 2021, The Pilot Group completed the acquisition of the Urban Driving Environment division of Variable Message Signs (vms), strengthening its traffic control systems portfolio and enhancing its broad offering of industry-leading smart traffic control solutions.

Another key area of focus was effectively managing the challenge of meeting customer needs with supporting staff to respond to restrictions presented by the pandemic, whilst the Group rounded off a positive year with the opening of a brand new office in North East.

Archie MacPherson, Managing Director at The Pilot Group commented:
“Net zero was very much on the national and international agenda in 2021, particularly due to the prominence of COP26, and momentum continues to build. Furthermore, factors like Covid-19 and rising energy prices have meant that more customers are looking for cost-savings, and sustainable practice is a key route to achieve that.

“Much of the growth we have seen this year can be attributed to emerging interest from businesses who aren’t sure how to reach their net zero goals. At The Pilot Group we help companies
to find simple and efficient money-saving solutions that are tailored to their needs, from the first point of interaction, right through to maintenance and on-going support.”

In 2022, the company is focused on growing its staff teams and knowledge, whilst developing a wider suite of products and solutions to support the development of the business. The Group is also planning to launch an advisory service, cementing its position as a strategic consultant for businesses, providing a fully managed service from consultation to implementing solutions.

The Pilot Group is also focused on advancing its own sustainability ambitions, committing to reaching net zero by 2030. It will continue to deploy its own products and services throughout its business and facilities and make improvements to sustainability.

Archie added:
“2022 is going to be a critical year for us. We are aiming to double in size, and add to our group portfolio, over the next two years. As we move closer towards providing a holistic advisory and implementation service for our clients, we are confident in
our ability to support them to make changes that will lead to real, tangible impacts for their business, both in terms of return on investment and carbon reduction.

“We look forward to building on our success to date and striving towards our goal of setting out a clear roadmap to net zero for businesses, local authorities, and ultimately the UK
as a whole.”
