XL Global Group, based in Aberdeen, has made two appointments to bolster its fast-growing integrated engineering support services in the UK.

In its 31st year, and comprising 11 divisions, XL Global Group provides a diverse range of specialist products and services including software, IT, manufacturing, fabrication, electrical engineering, automation and calibration expertise to a wide range of industrial sectors in the UK, North America and the Middle East.

“Mark Chatwin and Derren Reid have joined our commercial team to complement our core strategy for the growth and development of XL Global Group within the UK,” said Graeme Simpson, the Group’s UK Business Development Manager.

Derren joins XL Global Group having achieved great success in his previous roles, supporting both product sales and high-value critical infrastructure projects within several of the Group’s current market sectors.

According to Simpson, Derren’s extensive project management skills are ideally aligned to support the Group’s activities with key clients in the critical power sectors including, for example, Starline – a division of the global industrial group Legrand.

Meanwhile, Mark Chatwin brings a number of years valuable key account handling and consultative sales experience to the team. His wider capability and experience of managing international suppliers will provide  customers with an end to end vision of their requirements.

His appointment primarily enables the company to further develop its specialist fluid measurement and transfer applications through partnerships with Liquip and Technip FMC, whilst developing awareness of the wider scope of products and services available to clients throughout XL Global Group.

“We recognise the benefit of local customer relationships and industry expertise when working closely with our diverse range of clients” adds Graeme Simpson. “This team expansion not only allows us to develop our presence across the UK but also to offer greater representation of our key supply chain partnerships and greater awareness of the Group’s complimentary offerings including pumps, hazardous area electrical services and automation resources.”
