The third annual IVECO Daily Mission Awards celebrated impressive vehicle conversions and their operators

Basildon, 20th November, 2023

The IVECO Daily Mission Awards have become a staple of the LCV calendar, celebrating operators and their
innovative IVECO vehicles. The hotly contested categories of Construction & Utilities, Grounds Maintenance and
Forestry, Specialist Vehicles, and Delivery were joined by three brand-new awards – Livery of the Year,
Bodybuilder of the Year, and eDaily Innovation. Hosted by broadcaster and journalist Laura Winter, and with
special guest, Britain’s Strongest Man, Adam Bishop, the 2023 event was the biggest IVECO Daily Mission
Awards ever.

The 2023 IVECO Daily Mission Award overall winner is Heltor Ltd, with a fantastic tanker conversion that takes
full advantage of the 7.2-tonne Daily’s strength and manoeuvrability.

Heltor is a specialist in transporting fuel and heater oils, with the company founded in the 1960s. A fleet of vehicles
delivers to customers, however, the narrow roads of Devon presented a particularly challenging mission. The
solution was to be found in the strong truck-based chassis of an IVECO Daily, the perfect platform for a
manoeuvrable tanker that’s still capable of transporting considerable payloads. This ingenious design
incorporates a lightweight aluminium tank featuring dual compartments capable of carrying two different fuel oil
products simultaneously. Judges were impressed with how this vehicle has been engineered to overcome the
demands of its mission.

2023 IVECO Daily Mission Award Winners:

Delivery – Heltor Ltd

Delivery missions can be demanding, especially when space is at a premium and you need to transport valuable
cargo to homes and businesses. Heltor Ltd collected the Delivery award with its South West Truck & Van supplied
7.2-tonne IVECO Daily tanker (70C18H). Downsizing from a 7.5-tonne vehicle has greatly reduced running costs,
while the Daily’s strong truck-based chassis accommodates a large Magyar 4,500 litre split compartment tank.
Easily navigating the tight country lanes of Devon, this vehicle is exceptionally fit for purpose.

Construction & Utilities – Coppard Plant Hire Ltd
The Construction and Utilities award was won by Coppard Plant Hire Ltd with its attention-grabbing IVECO Daily
3.5t van (35S14 Hi-Matic). Supplied by Northern Commercials, this vehicle joins a Daily Dropside and Tipper
already on Coppard’s fleet and was specified in response to the company’s need for a highly durable van capable  of towing heavy equipment. With its impressive 3.5-tonne towing capacity and remarkable track record in this
tough industry, the Daily has proven to be the perfect tool for the job.

Grounds Maintenance & Forestry – Heritage Trees Ltd

Supplied by IVECO Retail Ltd, the winner of the Grounds Maintenance and Forestry category is Heritage Trees
Ltd with its new IVECO Daily (35C21HA8). With 20 years of experience in arboriculture, Heritage Trees knows
exactly what it takes for a vehicle to thrive in this industry. It equipped the 3.5-tonne Daily with the Construction
Pack that features tyre pressure monitoring, a cross-axle differential lock and a protective crank case sump guard,
to enable it to cope with venturing off the paved highways.

Specialist Vehicle – Q Catering Supplies Ltd

One vehicle that really stood out for the judges was the 7.2-tonne Daily belonging to Q Catering Supplies Ltd. It
takes full advantage of the IVECO Daily’s impressive load capacity while the Paneltex fridge/freezer supplied box
body features an innovative moveable interior bulkhead. Offering the ability to vary the mix of ambient, chilled and
frozen foods carried at any one time, it reduces energy costs and enables sustainable deliveries. The 8-speed Hi-
Matic auto gearbox boosts driver comfort and overall refinement, while the Daily’s class-leading turning circle
supports its ability to perform multiple stops, often in urban spaces.

Livery of the Year – Electricity North West

The first of three new awards for 2023, Livery of the Year celebrates the most eye-catching IVECO Daily designs.
Judged and voted for by the live audience at the event itself, the trophy went to Electricity North West’s strikingly
liveried Daily van that looks the part, but also regularly takes advantage of its up to 3.5 tonne towing capacity.

Bodybuilder of the Year – Paneltex

The new Bodybuilder of the Year award was presented to Paneltex for its work with refrigerated bodies. Efficiently
cooling and freezing goods simultaneously while maximising payload capacity really impressed judges. This
intelligent modular construction aids its customers in their mission for better sustainability.

eDaily Innovation – Bodywork Solutions and Trailar

This category put the spotlight on innovative engineering for the all-electric IVECO eDaily. Bodywork Solutions
scored highly for its Omnia lightweight bodywork made from recycled thermoplastic that is beneficial to the
environment, whilst offering class-leading payload of 3.2-tonnes. Trailar’s roof-mounted solar panels are capable
of powering a tail lift, which on a multidrop mission, can boost range by between 25–30 miles. These innovations
really captured the spirit of this award.

IVECO UK Light Business-line Director, Mike Cutts said “The 2023 IVECO Daily Mission Awards was the most
competitive yet, with some truly impressive vehicles submitted. A big thank you to all who were involved in this
event, we can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store.”

A special thanks goes to Laura Winter for hosting the event and special guest Adam Bishop, who was instrumental
in the record-breaking eDaily event earlier this year – which saw it tow an awesome 153.58 tonnes.
The IVECO Daily Mission Awards will return for 2024 with even more incredible vehicles.
