Business group Logistics UK has named Collett & Sons Ltd the Road Transport Operator of the Year at its annual Logistics Awards, held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge on Thursday 7 December 2023. The Award category is sponsored by Visku.

Collett & Sons Ltd completed delivery of 450 wind turbine components to South Kyle Wind Farm in Dumfries & Galloway this year. Consisting of 68-tonne nacelles, 73-tonne drive trains, 63-tonne hubs, 18-tonne blades and 150 individual tower sections, Collett has handled, transported and delivered all the components necessary to construct the 50 Nordex N133 wind turbines for the wind farm development. Throughout the entire project, Collett provided a dedicated Project Management Team to successfully handle all aspects of the farm’s construction, from the initial route surveys to the arrival of the components, to final delivery.
