Train operator Chiltern Railways have issued travel guidance to customers on the dates affected by RMT and ASLEF industrial action. These dates are Thursday 15 and Saturday 17 September, with days either side also affected.

Wednesday 14th September:

In connection with planned ASLEF & RMT industrial action the following day a small number of afternoon and late evening services have been amended or cancelled. Please check ahead before travelling on the Chiltern Railways website (http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk) or app.

Thursday 15 September

Due to planned industrial action by ASLEF and the RMT a do not travel message has been issued. No Chiltern Railways services will be running.

Friday 16 September

Due to the previous day of strike action, there will be a later start to our services. Customers should check the first train before they travel if they are travelling on this day.

The start of service is anticipated to be between 09:00 and 10:00. Please check ahead before travelling on the Chiltern Railways website (http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk) or app.

Saturday 17 September

Due to planned industrial action by the RMT, services will be severely affected. There will be no Chiltern Railways services north of Banbury, and services will start later and finish much earlier than usual (approx. 09:00 and 16:00 respectively).

Customers are advised to only travel if absolutely essential. If travelling is a necessity, the service pattern will be as follows:

1 train per hour Marylebone – stations to Oxford Parkway (and vice-versa)
1 train per hour Marylebone – stations to Banbury (and vice versa)
1 train per hour Marylebone – stations to Aylesbury (via High Wycombe, and vice-versa)
1 train per hour Aylesbury Vale Parkway – stations to Amersham (and vice-versa)

Chiltern Railways aim to provide an overview of first and last services on days affected by strike action at least seven days in advance. These will be accessible on the Chiltern Railways website/app and official strike page (http://www.chilternrailways.co.uk/strike) when available.

Sunday 18 September

Due to planned engineering works, the railway will be closed between Banbury and Leamington Spa, and also between Oxford Parkway and Oxford all day. An amended timetable will be in operation, and rail replacement buses will operate over the following route sections:

Banbury – Leamington Spa.
Oxford Parkway – Oxford.
