Bournemouth-based online seller Beyond Retail (UK) have revamped their final mile solution, announcing a partnership with nationwide two-person delivery specialist BJS Home Delivery.

Established in 2011, initially selling taps, Beyond Retail is now one of the UK’s leading bathroom, kitchen, and heating retailers, with brands including Drench, Only Radiators and Tap Warehouse retailing to homeowners and tradespeople alike.

As their business has grown, the need for a delivery partner that can ensure a higher level of customer experience was at the forefront of their decision-making, future-proofing their edge over competitors.

Jim Younger from Beyond Retail commented:

“We are excited about our partnership with BJS Home Delivery, which aligns perfectly with our commitment to enhancing the customer experience. This collaboration will undoubtedly strengthen our logistics capabilities and contribute to our ongoing success in the bathroom, kitchen, and heating retail sectors.”

While BJS has been known historically for delivering furniture and electronics, the past 12 months have also seen them tapping into the bathroom sector – finding a niche in removing the barriers that hub-and-spoke operations or pallet carriers can often present in the final mile.

The BJS operation is run from one central location, removing multiple touchpoints by up to 50% compared to other carriers, and this model has proved highly effective for Beyond Retail, with a reduction in damage rates and an increase in positive customer experience since BJS Home Delivery took over.

Harinder Singh, Managing Director of BJS Home Delivery, commented:

“At BJS, we’re really proud of our values and the relationships we build with our partners. Since day one, the understanding between Beyond Retail and BJS has given us a shared platform for ideas, learning, and ultimately, an improvement in their customer’s delivery experience.

We’ve taken steps to mitigate and reduce damages by thinking outside of the box, literally, and I’m really proud of both our teams for working on shared solutions. I look forward to our partnership growing further over the coming years.”

With Beyond Retail utilising a mix of software to control their e-commerce platforms, inventory management and warehousing, they needed an equally advanced logistics partner.

BJS’s in-house engineering team have quickly worked on integrations with Beyond’s software platforms to bring further improvements by allowing seamless conversations between the companies and a fluid movement of data – alleviating administration tasks for Beyond Retail’s team and improving accuracy for BJS Home Delivery.

With over 8,000,000 visitors each year and counting across Beyond Retail’s websites, the need for a robust and flexible supply chain has never been more critical.
